I was a part of a specialised team of IT professionals.
Our task; to make sure the entire production was always connected, devices stayed online and any problem was promptly resolved.
My role as a on-set network engineer was to assess locations to develop a network layout plan, then building out large temporary networks at diverse locations ranging from film studios, forests, beaches, mountains & farms in all-weather conditions using long-distance point-to-point wireless links to provide high-speed internet to remote areas. My objective was then to monitor what was happening on set, making sure that no matter where the director wanted to shoot, they had the capability to stream the video feed to video village and world wide.
